A 10 cm layer is placed on the floor of a shed. Once the seeds are still warm after the final treatment, they are layered on top of the litter, reaching about 1 meter in height. A 5 cm layer of clean straw is placed on top, followed by a covering of plastic sheeting. The environment should maintain a temperature of around 20°C and 75% humidity, with indirect light. When the buds reach 1 cm in length, the seeds are ready for planting. For colonization, the germinated ginger pieces are cut into sections, each containing 2–3 buds. After cutting, the wounds are treated with a mixture of fresh grass and wood ash to prevent infection. Soil preparation involves adding 5,000 kg of well-rotted manure per acre. Raised beds 1 meter wide are created, and the area is covered with plastic film. Planting is done when the soil temperature is above 15°C. The plants are spaced 50 cm apart, with trenches 15 cm deep, and two rows per bed. The bud tip should face south, and the planting depth should be level with the bud surface. After watering, a thin layer of fine sand is added, and the buds are covered with a small amount of ginger before the film is re-covered to maintain moisture and encourage growth. Field management includes keeping the soil surface temperature above 15°C before the shoots emerge. Once the plants start growing, shade nets are used to protect them from intense sunlight. When the plant has developed three lateral branches, a second application of 1,000 kg of organic manure and 10 kg of urea is applied. Every 20 days, additional nutrients are given to support vigorous stem and leaf growth. Pest and disease control is essential. The main disease is ginger rot, which can be prevented by soaking the rhizomes in a 200-times dilution of compound ginger root solution. In the early stages, the roots are watered with the same solution every 10 days, using 300 kg per mu. As for pests, such as ginger borers and ground beetles, spraying with 90% trichlorfon diluted 800 times every 10 days is effective. Softening measures are crucial for achieving tender ginger. After each fertilizer application, the ginger roots are hilled to prevent lodging and promote softening. After 3–4 rounds of hilling, the roots form ridges. Before the hot season, shade nets are installed over the ridges to protect the seedlings from direct sunlight, helping to cool and retain moisture. This process enhances the softness and tenderness of the ginger. Softened ginger should not be harvested until it reaches maturity. Typically planted in April, it can be harvested from August until late October, yielding approximately 3,000 kg of high-quality tender ginger per acre.
