Eats // Yummy Chocolate Protein Shake
I'm still working on shedding those last few pounds from my pregnancy. While I try to maintain a healthy diet most of the time, avoiding sweets has been particularly challenging for me, especially during my afternoon slump. That's usually when I start craving chocolate or anything sugary. Normally, I'd reach for some chocolate chips or marshmallows, but I've been trying to resist that temptation because it often leads to me eating way more than I intended—oops!
Recently, I decided to get creative and searched for some healthier alternatives on Pinterest. Although I didn't find a recipe that completely fit the bill, I gathered some ideas and came up with my own. For me, the trick is adding enough ice cubes to the shake. The protein powder mixed with extra water keeps me full until dinner, which helps me stick to my goals.
Here's the recipe I ended up creating:
**Chocolate Protein Shake**
*Ingredients:*
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (or almond milk, or regular milk!)
- 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 cup ice cubes
*Instructions:*
1. Blend all the ingredients together in a blender.
2. Add plenty of ice to make the shake extra refreshing and help curb hunger pangs.
This shake turned out surprisingly delicious! My 4-year-old was so eager to try it that he couldn't even wait for me to finish taking pictures. It passed his taste test with flying colors—I had to sneak sips just to save some for myself!
If you have any other healthy snacks that satisfy a sweet tooth, please let me know. I’d love to try them out!

You can use any brand of chocolate protein powder for this recipe. Lately, Tabitha and I have been using Isagenix, which worked perfectly for this shake.
And here are some fun outtakes from our photo session:

I hope you give this recipe a try—it’s a guilt-free way to enjoy something chocolatey and satisfying. Let me know if you have any tweaks or variations that work for you!
