Eats // Yummy Chocolate Protein Shake
I've been on this journey to shed those last stubborn pounds from my pregnancy, and honestly, it's been quite the challenge. While I try to stick to healthier options most of the time, there are days when I just need something sweet to get me through the afternoon. Unfortunately, whenever I give in to the craving, it ends up being way too easy to devour an entire bag of chocolate chips or finish off the leftover Easter candy. Oops!
Recently, I decided to search for healthier alternatives on Pinterest. Although I didn't find a recipe that completely fit the bill, I did gather some ideas and came up with my own. For me, the secret sauce has been adding plenty of ice. It keeps the shake extra refreshing and helps it feel more filling, so I don't end up snacking again before dinner.
Here's the recipe I came up with:
**Chocolate Protein Shake**
*Ingredients:*
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (or almond milk, or regular milk!)
- 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 cup ice
*Instructions:*
1. Blend all the ingredients together in a blender.
2. Add a generous amount of ice to keep the shake nice and cold while you sip on it.
This shake turned out surprisingly tasty! My four-year-old was practically begging me to stop taking pictures and let him drink it already. He gave it his stamp of approval, though I had to sneak a few sips for myself.

Oh, and by the way, you can use any brand of chocolate protein powder in this recipe. I've been using Isagenix lately, and it worked perfectly for this shake.
