Our Week In Review:: 6.27.12 (And What To Do During A Tropical Storm)
Hey there!
So, this week has been one for the books—literally drenched in rain thanks to Tropical Storm Debby deciding to hang around our neck of the woods. Instead of sulking, we decided to make the best of it! You know how it goes; when life gives you lemons—or torrential downpours—you find ways to splash around.
First stop? A waterpark. Because hey, if you're going to get soaked either way, why not do it with a purpose? Next, we headed to the theater. My kids have been movie fanatics since they were tiny, and let me tell you, free kiddie flicks during the week? Pure gold. Then, since this is our first hurricane season in Florida, we had to check out the beach to see those massive, ominous waves. They were wild—and kind of spooky—but definitely worth the trip.
Oh, and when our street turned into a mini river? Well, let's just say my kids became instant engineers, building dams and racing ducks down the "stream." It was hilarious. And yes, my weather-savvy hubby kept us posted on Debby’s every move. We had fun, but we also stayed safe. Some of our friends weren’t so lucky—they had to evacuate their flooded homes, and we’ve been doing what we can to help.
