Second, constructing suitable housing is crucial. The location should be well-drained, elevated, and sheltered from extreme weather. It should also be close to water and power sources, and have shade for protection against heat and cold. The chicken coop should be designed with proper ventilation, insulation, and a north-south orientation for optimal climate control. The structure typically measures 4-5 meters wide and 7-9 meters long, with a central height of 1.7-1.8 meters and side heights of 0.8-0.9 meters. A layered roof system using materials like plastic sheeting, straw, and felt helps keep the area dry and insulated. Third, choosing the right feed is important. Although these chickens grow slowly, they still require balanced nutrition. While natural feeds like green plants and insects can supplement their diet, relying solely on them may lead to nutritional deficiencies. Therefore, high-quality complete feed or mixed grain diets are recommended. Local crops such as pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and cassava can also be used to enhance their diet. Fourth, feeding and management during the early stages must be carefully handled. Chicks need time to adjust after being brought into the brooding area. Water should be provided before food, with a temperature around 32°C to avoid stress. After drinking, they should be given easy-to-digest starter feed. Feeding should be frequent but in small portions to support digestion and growth. Fifth, during the growing phase, the focus shifts to promoting healthy development. Chickens should be allowed to graze while receiving regular supplemental feed. Feeding times should be consistent, and the feed should be placed in troughs or on the ground. This helps build up their body condition in preparation for the fattening stage. Finally, during the fattening period, the goal is to increase fat deposition and improve meat quality. Grazing can continue, allowing chickens to eat natural vegetation and insects, which enhances flavor and appearance. Movement should be limited to promote weight gain, and strict hygiene and disease prevention measures must be maintained to ensure a healthy and profitable harvest.
